Ghyran, the Jade Wind
Ghyran is the Wind of Life and thus has a special connection to nature and healing powers. The wind falls like a gentle spring rain on the earth, creating invisible basins and flowing from there into watercourses and fertile places.
The name “Jade Wind” comes from its green color, with the exact shade varying depending on the age and state of the life it surrounds. New life is surrounded by a jade-green wind, while older life is surrounded by a darker emerald wind. Where disease and decay spread, the color darkens even more.
The wind is always present where life flourishes particularly – in well-kept groves, orchards, and farmland, but also in untouched forests and jungles. In spring and summer, it is therefore strongest, while in winter it is weakest. This cycle also affects the wizards of the Lore of Life, who use Ghyran to protect and heal.
Azyr, the Blue Wind
Azyr is a very light wind that gathers high up in the sky into a drifting layer of blue clouds. Only those with magical sight can see it at all, but it distorts the light from celestial bodies such as stars, moons, and planets.
Experienced Astromancers can predict the future from the movements of Azyr or receive visions of the past. Using Azyr is a science in itself and requires complex calculations and knowledge of the alignment of celestial bodies. When planets and stars move in certain patterns, the wind grows stronger and becomes easier to manipulate.
In the Old World, the Blue Wind also influences the weather by forming storm clouds. Masters of the Lore of Heaven can also harness this power. With the right spell, they can even draw comets from the upper atmosphere and send them crashing down onto the planet.
