Why is the weapon so dangerous? The death song of the Hive witches is mostly only thematized in the lore. However, anyone who has played the raid of Oryx or Crota can also experience this song – where anyone who endures to the end will die anyway.
This song destroys everything in the vicinity on a material and spiritual level that it can capture. The process is described as if the victim were being torn apart. Toland the Shattered was one of the Guardians who willingly listened to the death song, only to then disappear from the known plane of existence and dematerialize.
With the Deathbringer, you have precisely this disastrous song captured in a rocket launcher. Guardians can thus erase their enemies from reality just as the Hive witches do, and that is precisely why it is so dangerous.
