Game of Thrones was the starting point for many actors to have a larger career. Some remained insignificant despite important roles. One of them is Jack Gleeson, who, despite a significant role did not have a big career ahead of him. Now he returns to the genre for a fantasy Netflix series.
Who did Jack Gleeson portray? In Game of Thrones, Gleeson played Joffrey Baratheon. He probably belongs to one of the most hated characters in TV history. This is also due to his portrayal, which he nailed perfectly.
Despite the significant role, he lost interest in acting after Game of Thrones, as Unilad reports. After Game of Thrones, he took a break and only returned in 2020 for smaller roles. He appeared in two episodes of Sex Education and Out of Her Mind. In the film In the Land of Saints and Sinners, he acted alongside Liam Neeson. Now he is returning to the fantasy genre in the second season of the Netflix series Sandman.

Who does he play in Sandman? As Netflix announced, Gleeson is set to portray the character Puck. Puck is based on a fairy from Celtic and English mythology and is described as evil. He is said to be a dangerous trickster and has the ability of shapeshifting.
Whether viewers will find him more sympathetic than Joffrey in this description remains to be seen.
However, he is not the only new actor, also known from Game of Thrones, who will appear in season 2 of Sandman. Clive Russell will play Odin in the series, a character based on the god of the same name.
Clive Russell portrayed the character Brynden Tully in Game of Thrones, who first appears in season 3 of the series. Other characters appearing in season 2 of Sandman are listed here:
