Which class is the most fun in World of Warcraft? You voted – and the result is quite clear.
Over the past decades, World of Warcraft has continuously grown and received more content. But the classes have also changed drastically. From fairly simple playstyles, which often consisted only of ‘Fireball, Fireball, Fireball’, we have evolved into complex rotations with numerous abilities. Especially with Dragonflight and the return of talent trees, playstyles have noticeably changed again.
Therefore, a few days ago we wanted to know which class you enjoy the most in World of Warcraft. You answered this question and voted extensively in our survey. More than 3,000 of you cast your votes – and here are the results.

- Rank 12: Rogue (5 %, 143 votes)
- Rank 11: Monk (6 %, 175 votes)
- Rank 10: Summoner (6 %, 201 votes)
- Rank 9: Death Knight (6 %, 202 votes)
- Rank 8: Priest (7 %, 212 votes)
- Rank 7: Paladin (8 %, 253 votes)
- Rank 6: Demon Hunter (8 %, 255 votes)
Especially in the lower ranks, the chosen classes are often very close to each other. It is a bit surprising that the Mage, actually a fantasy archetype and a true “veteran” of Warcraft, ranks so low. Also, Rogues, in the penultimate place, often do not seem to be perceived as fun but rather as hectic. Following them is a trio of “new” classes that did not exist in the original WoW (Monk, Summoner, Death Knight).
The two followers of the Holy Light (Priest and Paladin) find themselves in ranks 8 and 7. Paladins excel as tanks, but the Retribution spec is currently still a point of concern – but it will be significantly revised soon. With Priests, the playstyle of the Shadow specialization is unpopular, and the Discipline Priest struggles in certain fights.
The Demon Hunter is already solidly in 6th place. Its playstyles have become more complex both as a tank and as a DPS character, but few other classes can rush across the battlefield as quickly.
Rank 5: Warlock
265 votes, making up 8% of participants, elevate the Warlock slightly ahead of the Demon Hunter to rank 5. Although the Warlock only has ranged specializations, it is well received. This is probably also due to the fact that ‘specs’ are played in quite different ways. Whether one hurls dozens of demons at the enemy or tortures him with fire – it just feels good and consistent.
Besides that, the Warlock also has a broad toolkit of useful abilities. Numerous demons with different abilities, healthstones for the group, portals to summon weaklings, and even a resurrection in combat. A true ‘jack-of-all-trades’ that can deal significant damage and hits right on the fantasy that players expect.
Rank 4: Shaman
Originally a pure Horde class, the Shaman has become a popular choice on both sides.
Although Shamans are still often associated only with ‘Berserk’ or ‘Heroism’, the class now has much more to offer, brings interesting mechanics, and a very satisfying playstyle with high numbers as rewards – whether as a healer or DPS dealer.
A deserved rank 4 on this list (9 %, 289 votes).
Rank 3: Druid
No class is as versatile as the Druid, as no other class has 4 different specializations. Therefore, the Druid is the all-in-one solution for World of Warcraft, more versatile than any other class. If one of the specializations happens to be ‘garbage’, there are still 3 others to choose from until the next patch.
Strong healing, a powerful group buff, stealth, resurrection in combat, and devastating spells that can wipe everything off the field in a few seconds in both PvE and PvP secure Druids with 308 votes (10 %) the 3rd place in our survey.
Rank 2: Hunter
Still mocked by some in the community even after years, Hunters are currently among the most fun classes. Whether as Beastmaster, Marksman, or Survival Hunter, the class can deal enormous damage and, unlike other ranged characters, is rarely reliant on long cast times.
Hunters can choose between simple ‘4-button rotations’ or significantly more complex playstyles, making the class appealing both to newcomers and veterans.
Additionally, Hunters have a unique form of character customization with their pets. Thus, only narrowly come in at rank 2 (11 %, 263 votes).
Rank 1: Warrior
You would think that the Warrior is a concept that has been exhausted, processed in every MMORPG – but in World of Warcraft it seems to still excite fans at least at the moment.

Warriors are versatile, fun, and bring a good group buff.
Whether as a tough tank drawing enemy threat towards him or as a snarling Fury or Arms Warrior dealing lots of damage until you feel sick – the Warrior is a solid choice and can shine in any type of content. Every key press with the Warrior simply feels good and is fun – no wonder that the readers of MeinMMO voted the Warrior to rank 1. With 12% (372 votes) no other class can compete with the veteran.
