YouTuber MarcoStyle was the most well-known channel for The Division for years and has now also been active with The Division 2, but recently he has dedicated himself to Destiny 2. However, now he is in trouble. His YouTube account was hacked and the hacker took over the channel.
Why did MarcoStyle have a nightmare week? Starting from Saturday, November 2, MarcoStyle experienced a truly terrible week that kept getting worse.
The well-known YouTuber reported via Twitter:
- He had caught a virus on his PC that was causing trouble (November 2)
- Someone had taken over his Twitter account and now everything was in Russian (November 3)
- He had lost control of his YouTube channel – it felt like he had been fired (November 3)
- His YouTube channel was now on a site that sells channels and his channel was only worth $700 (November 5)
- The hacker started a live stream on his YouTube channel to scam the followers (November 7)
- The channel deleted all videos of MarcoStyle (November 8)
- The name of the channel was changed and the scam is still ongoing (November 8)
- This channel has now even been verified by YouTube (November 8)

YouTubers Help MarcoStyle
The current situation is: Some well-known gaming YouTubers like Gladd, Datto, and SkillUp have become aware of MarcoStyle’s situation. The fact that someone is scamming over the channel alarmed them.
The YouTubers contacted their contacts at YouTube. And YouTube actually responded
On November 8 or 9, after about a week, came the salvation. The head of YouTube Gaming, Paul Wyatt, said they were on the case.
This is how MarcoStyle now reacts: MarcoStyle promises to never fall for a scam again. MarcoStyle has evidently fallen for an “email scam”.
How the hacker was able to bypass his “2-factor” authentication is still unclear.
MarcoStyle now hopes that YouTube can fix a large part of the damages.
YouTuber Makes a Name with The Division
Who is MarcoStyle? MarcoStyle was the most well-known YouTuber for The Division for years. He discovered the game very early and has been covering it.
He also showed how to exploit weaknesses in The Division 2, which often got him into trouble with the community.
He is someone who plays an important role in the community and has controversially expressed his opinions on current topics over the years: For instance, MarcoStyle criticized PvP in The Division 2 in March 2019.
However, he never really warmed up to The Division and announced in April that he would turn his attention back to other games because The Division 2 could not offer him much in PvP.

Until recently, MarcoStyle had about 360,000 subscribers on YouTube and over 51 million views. His channel had its peak with the release of The Division 2 in March.
Recently, MarcoStyle has mainly dedicated himself to Destiny 2.
