The pre-order for FIFA 23 started last night and briefly the Ultimate Edition was sold for the equivalent of 0.06 euros, which is 6 cents, with some bonuses. Some fans took advantage and now hope they can keep the game.
What exactly happened? On July 20, the pre-order for FIFA 23 started. You can purchase the football simulation for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The Ultimate Edition actually costs a whopping 99.99 euros. However, it was different for a brief time in India.
There, the Ultimate Edition in the Epic Store apparently cost only 4.8 rupees. It is not entirely clear how this error occurred. However, the problem was reportedly fixed after about 15 minutes.
The user rajat20rana shared in the FIFA subreddit a screenshot of this curious moment. In the comments, several users reported that they immediately took advantage of this great offer.

What do the players say? On reddit, there are several users who claim that the purchase for 4.8 rupees worked. However, no upgrade or cosmetic item was purchased, but the complete package, as Kingslayer2377 emphasizes.
The user anoopvk268 even claims to have purchased several games directly: “I bought several copies. I hope they don’t refund it and I get to keep them.”
However, there is also some ridicule for EA. The user Kenrry wrote, “To be honest, that is the actual price the game should cost.”
Many players criticize the practice of releasing a new FIFA every year for which you must pay full price and lose your acquired players in Ultimate Team. EA generated a net revenue of $1.3 billion in the fiscal year 2021 solely from Ultimate Team (via EA).
What did users get for 6 cents? In the Ultimate Edition, in addition to the actual game, there are 4,600 FIFA Points (about 30 euros), three days of early access to the game, and several player cards as well as some loan players for Ultimate Team.
What does EA say about it? They have not commented on this error yet. However, as of now – nearly 21 hours later – there have been no refunds yet.
