Christmas in WoW is canceled for many. Blizzard has stealthily removed one of the most beautiful Winter Veil rewards from the game!
Those with little time to level a second character in World of Warcraft up to maximum level should equip their twink with plenty of heirlooms. Ideally, you recruit a friend beforehand and level up together to get an additional 300% experience points. Together with the Elixir of the Thinker, which also grants an additional 300% experience, this results in an almost 700% XP bonus, allowing characters to reach maximum level in just a few hours.
Since last year, there have been Elixirs of the Thinker in the “Wild Gift” rewards of the Garrison during Winter Veil. Although the elixir was rarely included, it fetched a pretty penny at the auction house.
Stealthily, Blizzard seems to have removed these level potions from the game, at least they no longer appear to be included in the Wild Gifts.
Occasionally, they are said to appear at horrendous prices in the black market auction house, but that’s not a reliable source, as it can take weeks or months for a single elixir to show up.
Is Blizzard only trying to sell level-boosters?
Some players suspect ill intentions behind this and believe that Blizzard wants to boost the sales of level-boosters in the shop. However, this assumption contradicts the upcoming scaling of the entire world in patch 7.3.5. This will allow players to finally experience the old zones in their entirety without the player level surpassing the area’s requirements.
Many players find it disturbing that Blizzard has not mentioned these changes in any patch notes, as it means players are now missing out on a reward from the Winter Veil event that many were looking forward to.
