The most beautiful MMORPG in the world, World of Jade Dynasty, has recouped its development costs just one month after its release in China. Now the developers are planning big things.
Which game is it about? World of Jade Dynasty is the spiritual successor to the MMORPG Jade Dynasty, which was active from 2007 to 2018. Similar to its predecessor, World of Jade Dynasty offers a theme park in Wuxia style, reminiscent of Swords of Legends Online .
In China, the MMORPG launched on December 19, 2024, and has already made a remarkable amount of revenue since then.

Development costs recouped in one month
How did the launch go for the MMORPG? The launch of the MMORPG in China was extremely positive. The game was well received by gamers and was able to recoup all of its development costs from recent years within just one month.
World of Jade Dynasty is said to have cost around 48 million euros during development (via mmorpg.org.pl). Since its release, approximately 400 million Renminbi Yuan have been generated, equivalent to about 53 million euros.
In order for the MMORPG to become a success, the developers have also invested a lot of money in advertising, as evidenced by the financial report from the publisher Perfect World (via pwrd.com).
The game does not rely on excessive microtransactions in China, but rather on a subscription model after reaching a certain level in the game. All microtransactions are said to be purely cosmetic, with no pay-to-win.
What happens next with the MMORPG? World of Jade Dynasty is expected to become one of the cornerstones for Perfect World in the gaming sector after its success in China. The developers want to continue developing the MMORPG and adding new content.
