What else happened? Colleague Benedict Grothaus was at Funcom to play several hours of Dune: Awakening. Yup, this is not a real MMORPG, but “just” a survival MMO. - The responsible parties at NCSoft have announced the release date of Blade & Soul: NEO. Like the original, the modernized remaster will also rely on a Free2Play model and is set to launch on February 25, 2025.
- The popular space MMORPG EVE Online continues to deliver new content even 22 years after its release. The developers have now presented the roadmap for 2025.
- The indie MMORPG Project: Gorgon has lost its lead developer. The community is showing concern and expresses condolences to her husband and colleagues.

What happened in the MMORPGs in development:
- The MMORPG The Quinfall launched catastrophically on Steam in Early Access last weekend. The developers want to do everything better after the disastrous launch and even plan to add additional servers.
- The prettiest MMORPG in the world, World of Jade Dynasty, has already recouped its development costs only one month after its release in China. Now the developers are planning something big (and hopefully a global launch).
- The new Dev blog of the developers of Stars Reach focused on mining (via starsreach.com). Meanwhile, nothing has happened with the Kickstarter campaign. About 4,500 potential backers are currently following the crowdfunding.
- While the developers of Pax Dei are once again clearing inactive plots, the EA version of the MMORPG lands on GeForce Now (via mmorpg.com).
- The developers of Eternal Tombs have looked back at the progress over the past year and have given a preview of the upcoming test phase, which is expected to start in February or March (via eternaltombs.com).
- According to a developer post on X, the MMORPG Drakantos is set to be released on Steam in mid-2025 (via mmorpg.org.pl).
