Emotes in Destiny 2 are extremely popular. Bungie never tires of bringing new, cool emotions, dances, and moves to the game. This week, a particularly annoying emote that has redefined “Tea-Bagging” is once again available in the Eververse.
Let your emotions out! If you want to express yourself in Destiny 2, you use so-called emotes. They give players the opportunity to communicate and fool around. And Destiny 2 has a lot of emotes that players can use from their collection.
Most emotes are based on well-known internet memes or nostalgic pop culture.
- For example, you can perform Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”
- Dance the Carlton Dance from “Fresh Prince of Bel Air”
- or become Pennywise and show off the creepy clown
Basically, every emote in Destiny 2 is based on a real-life counterpart. It has even become a bit of a tradition for players to associate these emotes with their originals since it’s not always immediately clear.
The Cat Ears Dance is considered “Tea-Bagging 2.0”
Most annoying emote has become a cult: This week, the rush for the coolest emotes is back on. In the Eververse, Bungie is once again offering the annoying “Cat Ears Dance”. Hardly any emote has spread as quickly in Destiny 2. Everywhere players are doing the cat ears. During the kidnapping of XUR, in Gambit, and especially in PvP. Almost every kill is rewarded with the cute ears or the emote is used as a group greeting.
The Cat Ears Dance emote is particularly seen as a rehash of “Tea-Bagging” in PvP and Gambit. So if you want to take revenge for some annoying ear emotes from your opponents, now is your chance to get the emote for Glimmer.
“Tea-bagging” has been a common practice in online games for a long time
Where does the Cat Ears Dance come from? The origin of this emote dates back to 2008. Since then, it has ingrained itself in the minds of an entire generation for reasons still scientifically unexplained. And this generation apparently plays Destiny 2.
The original emote comes from the fictional pop band “Caramella Girls” and their song “Caramelladansen”. But beware: This song can lead to nervous twitching and its emote double in Destiny 2 may lead to peer pressure.
How much does the emote cost and where can you get it? You can currently get the emote in the Eververse for 700 Glimmer. However, you must be quick. Because with the weekly reset on Tuesday, December 7 at 6 PM, it will disappear from the offer again.
So if you also want to use this extremely frustrating emote for the kill cam of your Crucible enemies, then get it now and summon back the heyday of the animated pop band.
Have you already acquired the emote? Or can you not stand this annoying move anymore?
