The new killer “Deathslinger” kills his victims in quite a cruel way. This is probably the darkest Mori animation from Dead by Daylight.
Recently, the latest PTR of Dead by Daylight was deployed and introduced the new killer “Deathslinger”. Not only is he a really nasty and brutal killer, but his Mori animation is pretty terrible even for Dead by Daylight and sets new standards for the already brutal game.
The patch also brings cool new features for the Trapper.
What is the Mori animation? Actually, killers have to hang survivors on meat hooks and slowly sacrifice them to the Entity. However, under certain conditions, it is possible to kill a survivor on the spot and take them out of the game directly. This is called “Mori” in Dead by Daylight and is made possible by certain offerings or perks. Each killer kills survivors in a different way, so they each have their own “Mori animation”.
This is how the Deathslinger operates: The Deathslinger kneels down, lowers his spear gun, and stabs the spear into the survivor’s back. Then the survivor is lifted into the air with the gun and thrashes helplessly around. The mouth is wide open to scream while the killer laughs, fires, and the spear shoots through the survivor’s body out of the mouth. The victim collapses lifelessly onto their knees. The Deathslinger swings back and kicks the victim in the back to free the spear along with the chain, leaving the survivor dead on the ground.
You can see the Mori animation in Wolfyowns’ YouTube video here:
Cortyn says: The Mori animations are always a rather macabre pleasure that fits well with Dead by Daylight. However, the cruelty of the Deathslinger is likely to surpass all other Mori animations and is not comparable to the almost “harmless” animation of the Trapper or the Spirit. However, the Deathslinger also has a pretty brutal and cruel backstory, which is well represented in the animation.
I am already looking forward to using this animation to take out that one teabagging survivor. At least survivors should no longer disconnect.
What do you think of the Deathslinger’s Mori animation? Is it cool and fitting for the new killer? Or are the developers going too far with the brutality?
