The development studio Visionary Realms presents the tank classes from the upcoming MMORPG Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen. They are the Paladin, the Dire Lord, and the Warrior.
Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is set to provide a classic MMO experience. This includes tanks who charge at enemies and absorb damage while damage dealers unleash their attacks and healers tend to the wounded. With the Paladin, the Dire Lord, and the Warrior, three tanks have now been introduced.
The Tanks of the MMO
The Paladin in Pantheon: Paladins were once clerics who no longer wanted to adhere to the strict doctrines of the order. A Paladin is a tank in plate armor and a melee specialist with celestial power. In addition to the dogma of the cleric order, they dedicate themselves to the study of weapons and armor, making a Paladin play an important role in defensive combat. A Paladin is also driven by a hatred of undead, which makes them particularly strong when fighting these creatures.
In battle, Paladins gather wrath when they take damage from foes. Paladins also gain additional wrath every time their group takes down an enemy. Furthermore, certain abilities increase a Paladin’s wrath, while other skills consume wrath. Additionally, a Paladin accumulates up to three Reckoning points in combat, allowing them to perform special heroic deeds.
The following races can choose the class “Paladin”:

The Dire Lord in Pantheon: In the oral history of the world Terminus, there are legends of Dire Lords who possess the ability to master the paralyzing power of fear and manipulate the essence of their enemies. The Dire Lord executes swift and brutal melee attacks. They can heal themselves. However, they do not only fight enemies physically, but also mentally, manipulating them with their abilities. Through the mastery of essence manipulation, the Dire Lord can use their own blood in battle to heal themselves or to destroy their enemies from within.
In combat, Dire Lords continuously gather essence as a percentage of the damage they inflict. They also gain essence based on the damage they receive. Some abilities also ensure that essence is accumulated, while others consume essence.
The following races can play the class of Dire Lord:

- Ogre
- Dark Myr
- Skar
The Warrior in Pantheon: Warriors are strong and resilient. They are master strategists and keep a cool head even in chaotic confrontations. In battle, a Warrior accumulates up to five combat points. These are used to perform heroic deeds. In addition to their armor, natural toughness, and magical enhancements, the Warrior also possesses another form of protection. “Hardening” helps them defend even better. Therefore, a warrior in combat represents a bastion that enemies must first overcome. Warriors must always keep this hardening as high as possible in combat and constantly rebuild it.
