The MMORPG Camelot Unchained has pushed back its release date again. It will no longer be coming in 2019. There is no new window for the release yet, but in 2020 the PvP MMORPG is expected to be at least in a state where it could be released.
Did it even have a release date? Well, sort of. In January 2018, Camelot Unchained received a funding boost of $7.5 million.
Back then, the head of the studio, Marc Jacobs, said that the release of Camelot Unchained was planned for 2019, but without guarantee.
No one really took the release date seriously for a while, as the development of the MMORPG has been slow. Besides, data with Camelot Unchained is a tricky thing – the start of tests has been announced and postponed for years.
In recent months, it seemed like Camelot Unchained would not be able to meet the release date. However, the developers still did not want to officially postpone it. It depended on the personnel situation whether they could still keep the release date in 2019, it was said in June 2019 (via massivelyop).

This is the new announcement: As MassivelyOP reports, Jacobs has now admitted in a livestream that Camelot Unchained will not be released in 2019. He says that anyone who is so angry about it that they want their money back can have it. He begs players not to give him more money.
The fans of the MMORPG will hope that the long wait is worth it.
They want to get Camelot Unchained right and not just release it as an inferior product, even though they could.
Jacobs believes that the team is capable of bringing Camelot Unchained to a “release-ready state” by 2020, but even then it would not have all the features.
He thinks he could provide more details about a release date or release window in early 2020.
There will be nothing on the market like Camelot Unchained
This is what it’s about: Camelot Unchained is an indie project that Jacobs is financing with his own money, money from investors, and money from backers. It is an attempt to develop a new type of PvP MMORPG – an earlier project by Jacobs, Dark Age of Camelot, is considered a pioneer in the genre.
However, Camelot Unchained has chronically struggled to find qualified technical personnel, as is known. Jacobs said, all companies are fishing in the same pool of talented people and he is competing with Google, Amazon, and Facebook for programmers.
