In Helldivers 2, the worthy defenders of Über-Earth are now receiving their reward for saving Über-Earth, but only the true heroes will receive something.
What is the reward? The Ministry of Truth wants to thank the brave efforts of the Helldivers. As a reward, the soldiers receive a new cape called ‘Protector of the Heart’.
The cape is a modified version of the flag of Über-Earth, featuring a golden skull and a golden border. You can also see the usage in the title image. The description of the exclusive cape reads: ‘When the Illuminati threatened Über-Earth, the true heart of democracy, the Helldivers answered the call.’
However, not every Helldiver will receive the exclusive cape, as the developers have now made clear.

Only true heroes get a cape
Who receives the reward? The reward is only available for the defense of Über-Earth and although the Ministry of Truth may not want to hear this, not all Helldivers were involved in the defense.
Only Helldivers who played between May 13 and June 2 and thus contributed to the defense of Über-Earth will receive the cape. Those who missed the event will end up empty-handed and can no longer obtain the cape.
How are the Helldivers reacting to the cape? The Helldivers are excited about the reward. On Discord, the announcement received over 3,000 thumbs up within one hour. There are already initial reactions to the cape on Reddit:

- EyMug: ‘I wish the logo had something to do with the Illuminati, like a sword or a mini-flag that is placed on the logo. That would make sense.’
- Impressive-Ad8642: ‘Yay! We are now veterans lmao.’
- Thormold: ‘Well, my soul was taken by Clair Obscur, so no regrets, just a bit of regret! Nice cape!’
