Rank 5: Molly
Anyone who watched the first season of the Mighty Nein all the way through will know that many questions remain about the tiefling and former performer Mollymauk. He is very vague about his past, either because he doesn’t want to tell his group everything, or simply doesn’t know what is going on inside him. We learn more about the blood hunter in the first season.
Something in Molly grants him immense powers, which he, however, does not remotely have under control, let alone understand. Aside from that, he is a skilled fighter who can cast useful magic with his own and others’ blood.
In addition to his power and usefulness as a capable fighter, another of Molly’s strengths is his social skills.
He is not only good at interacting with all kinds of people, be they ordinary merchants, citizens, or contacts from the black market. Molly values harmonious coexistence, which he demonstrated at the fair, but also wants to continue to cultivate with the Mighty Nein.
No one in the group dislikes Molly. Yes, not everyone seems to trust him blindly, but Molly is – alongside characters like Jester – the heart of the group. Perhaps tieflings are just made that way.
However, Molly only ranks fifth because he is not in full control of his actions, his past, and consequently his fate. This becomes especially apparent in the finale of the first season.
