In The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, you will be part of the answer to the question of whether the dwarves from Tolkien’s fantasy world ever reclaimed their old homeland. After about a year of exclusivity on Epic Games, the game is now also coming to Steam – along with a major update.
What is the game about? The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is a survival crafting game set in the popular fantasy universe of J.R.R. Tolkien. The story takes place in the Fourth Age of Middle-earth, after the books.
You play as a group of dwarves trying to reclaim the abandoned dwarven city of Moria (known as Khazad-dûm in dwarvish). But the deeper you venture into the underground city with your party, the greater the dangers that await you.
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria will be released on August 27, 2024, on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The release will be accompanied by “The Golden Update,” the trailer for which you can watch here:
What’s included in the new update? The release on multiple platforms will also introduce crossplay. You can play with your friends regardless of whether they bought the game through the Epic Games Store, Steam, or one of the consoles.
The “The Golden Update” also includes a new sandbox mode, 14 new armors and weapons, and over 100 new building objects. These include new decorations and furniture.
A list of all updates can be found on the official website of the game.
