In the fantasy MMORPG The Lord of the Rings Online the year 2015 is so far marked by restructuring. Patch 16.5 takes care of minor details.
The theme of The Lord of the Rings Online this year: The move of the servers to new hardware and the server mergers. The specific events in The Lord of the Rings Online in 2015, in the game itself have been relatively quiet for half a year: the last update 16 brought Osgiliath, which came in the spring.
This week a smaller patch, 16.5, was released that addressed small comfort changes and bug fixes amidst all the major issues.
So city services from the shop now last six hours instead of one hour as before. The mysterious pie from the farmer’s festival will be removed from the inventory upon task completion and the entrance to Haudh Nogbenn should no longer float above the ground. That was just a selection, you can read the full patch notes here.
With all the changes happening in the background, a bit of normalcy is quite nice.
Update 17 brings Minas Tirith
The next major update 17, Minas Tirith, is planned for late autumn. On October 2, the patch notes for the test server Bullroar were released, marking a sign of life.
Update 17 brings 3 regions, two epic battles, a new crafting tier, an expansion of the legendary weapon system, and much more. This will certainly be presented in detail in the coming weeks.
We have linked the first images and patch notes in the sources.
It looks like soon at The Lord of the Rings Online, people will be talking about something other than server mergers. The matter of Mount Doom still needs to be accomplished.
