In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Android, Switch & Xbox One) there is a place called “Loot Lake.” It has not been particularly rich in loot, but that is changing. Recently, the lake has been randomly spitting out loot in Fortnite.
What is happening at Loot Lake? The large lake Loot Lake is currently the focus of community attention. Suddenly, items are appearing from nowhere accompanied by a mysterious sound. The lake is living up to its name.

In this Reddit post, you can see a case of “mystery loot lake loot”.
Is the cube responsible? Many fans see the mystery loot as a clear sign for the finale of Season 5. According to a currently popular theory, the big purple cube is rolling on its chaotic path into Loot Lake at the end of the season.
Loot from another dimension? According to data mining and a dark final cover image, something terrible will happen that will likely change the Fortnite map forever.
It is quite possible that the randomly appearing items come from a parallel dimension that is currently merging with the regular world.
Is it just a bug in the end? Other players suspect that the randomly appearing loot is not a feature but a bug.
The loot only appears sporadically, and not all players would get it. Also, ammo boxes are behaving strangely right now, allowing multiple openings and looting.
The future shows whether more is to come: Depending on whether the random loot increases or disappears in the coming days, it should be clear whether Epic has a plan here or if it was indeed just a programming error in the loot spawn.
If more phenomena occur, it is certain that the lake will be the next target of the map changes.
