The League of Legends eSports team Vaevictis has been eliminated from the Russian LCL. Now, one player has spoken out and explained the situation.
What happened? On February 18, we reported on MeinMMO that the LoL team Vaevictis eSports will not participate in the Russian LCL in 2020. They were replaced by the team CrowCrowd after losing 28 matches in a row.
Now, the jungler Anastasiya “HellMa” Pleyko has addressed the topic at Invenglobal. She emphasizes that it wasn’t about the fact that all players were women. A male team with similar skills would have achieved the same results.
“It’s not about being male or female”
What does HellMa see as the problem? The jungler sees the issue with Vaevictis mainly in the fact that the players did not play in the highest possible solo league and not always in their preferred positions:
We are only diamond players, while others were in Challenger or even higher. It’s not about being male or female.
You can take five boys from diamond and they will perform the same. Additionally, some girls were used to fill the roster.
By filling the roster, HellMa means that some players had to take positions in the team that they were not suited for. She herself had to switch from jungle to top lane because apparently there were too few suitable players for the top lane.
According to her own statement, the team trained hard, analyzed replays, and tried to improve.
“We knew we would have haters”
What challenges did the team have to overcome? In addition to the lack of skill and unfamiliar roles, Vaevictis also faced other problems:
I can tell you that we had so many haters. It was definitely hard. But it’s okay, I understand these people.
In the course of the conversation, she then explained how the team dealt with the hate:
It was hard for us, but we knew we would have haters, so it didn’t affect how we played LoL.
The girls were so cool, and we talked about it when someone had emotional problems. We were like sisters who could talk about everything, which helped everyone in the team. Our fans were cute and sweet, that gave us strength, so we didn’t give up.

Regarding the problems they had with other teams, the jungler did not comment.
What’s next for Vaevictis? At the end of the interview, she thanked the fans for their support and shared that they can contact the players anytime through social media.
However, HellMa did not communicate what will happen with the team and whether they will attempt to qualify again for the LCL 2021.
Even Caps from G2 Esports, who has been playing ADC this year, knows about losses. But even if he fails, the fans don’t hold it against him:
