The brutal “Mori animation,” meaning the direct killing of the latest killer from Dead by Daylight is dark. But Resident Evil fans might be pleased …
The latest killer from Dead by Daylight is currently on the PTB and is fully playable there. While the mechanics of the Mastermind, the new “Resident Evil” killer, are quite interesting, it is especially his Mori animation that is causing a lot of attention. Because this time it is particularly disgusting and eerie – not to mention that you can even hear the killer over 40 meters away.
In Dead by Daylight, survivors die primarily when the killer hangs them on meat hooks and sacrifices them to the Entity. However, there are different ways for a killer to “earn the right” to kill a survivor by hand. For this, there is a special animation that fits the respective killer – the Mori animation.
“Moris” are earned either through offerings, specific perks, or abilities of killers, such as with the Onryo.
What happens with the Mastermind? When the Mastermind initiates his Mori animation, it even looks like the survivor might be able to save themselves one more time. Because the victim rights themselves up from their lying position and strikes the Mastermind so hard in the face that his sunglasses fly off, revealing his eyes infected by the Uroboros virus.
With his left hand, the Mastermind lifts the survivor by the neck, then delivers a punch to the face that sends the victim flying a good meter away. Afterwards, Wesker summons his Uroboros tentacle and slams it into the ground, which then advances towards the survivor and penetrates their body from below, lifting them up and exiting their body at various points – especially from the mouth, which looks quite dark.
The camera switches back to Wesker, who, with a smug snort, readjusts his sunglasses to show the survivor – or what’s left of them. The virus tentacle has since burrowed back from the mouth into the eye of the victim, which looks particularly gruesome.
Especially cool: When the Mastermind goes after Chris Redfield, he even has a special voice line and directly addresses Chris.
When will the new killer be released? There is still no official release date for the Mastermind and the two new survivors. Since the patch also brings 3 characters (one killer and 2 survivors) and therefore more perks, the testing phase might take a bit longer. However, a release is quite likely still in August, after the update has been thoroughly tested.
What do you think of this Mori animation? One of the better ones from Dead by Daylight? Or rather boring?
