In addition to the impressive graphics, the latest Anthem trailer showcased a suit that has an insect-like appearance. Could this be a new Javelin? What speaks for and against it.
Just recently, Nvidia released a short 4K trailer for Anthem that displayed the graphics along with features and gameplay. It also showcased a Javelin that has a previously unknown, insect-like appearance.
Some fans and PCGamesN are now speculating about the possibility that this might be a completely new class. Others, however, are convinced that it is just a skin for an already known Javelin. What is more likely?
New Javelin or just a Skin?
What speaks for a new Javelin? Due to its insect-like appearance, the Javelin clearly differs from the others at first glance.

So far, Bioware has announced four Javelins:
- Ranger: The all-rounder, with which every player starts initially.
- Colossus: The Destroyer with powerful artillery
- Interceptor: With this class, you dive into close combat
- Storm: This class plays with the elements and resembles a mage
All Javelins differ in their abilities and playstyle. You can find all known information about the four Javelins with us.
Unfortunately, the trailer gives no indication of whether this insect-Javelin is a previously unannounced suit or not. However, there are some things that argue against it.
What speaks against a new Javelin? The far more likely option is that this is a skin for one of the already known Javelins. Because so far Bioware has clearly stated that at the release of Anthem, there will only be the four Javelins that have already been shown.
More Javelins could eventually be the topic of further DLCs, but this has not yet been confirmed by Bioware.

Although the post dates back to June 2018, nothing indicates that Bioware has changed its mind.
Which known Javelin could it be? Comparing the Nvidia gameplay with previously shown material from the Anthem Alpha, there are parallels to an already known Javelin: The Interceptor.
When comparing a few screenshots, the similarities in wings and feet are noticeable:

Characteristic of the Interceptor are the wings and the feet with two protruding “toes”. In addition, the thrust of the jetpack creates a kind of green shimmer while flying, which can be seen more clearly in the video. However, this is still not a definitive proof against a new Javelin.
It still seems rather unlikely that Bioware would tease a new Javelin in this way. It would be more likely to make a proper announcement with gameplay. After all, the release of Anthem is on February 22, and a new Javelin would be a good way to generate hype.
The insect-like Javelin shows, how diverse the cosmetic customization options of Anthem can be.
