The comet that crashed at the end of Season 3 in Fortnite: Battle Royale left a trail of destruction. Will the massive craters in Tilted Towers, the prison, or Dusty Depot ever be repaired? Since the last update, we know: Yes! The map has changed again.
Epic seems to be planning something, as we hinted at in the third season. Throughout the last season, a sinister comet hovered in the sky, seemingly growing larger with each update. At the end of Season 3, Epic really went for it and brought the comet down after initial meteor showers.
Can we expect a similar action in Season 4? It looks like Epic is diligently repairing the map step by step. The first stop is Tilted Towers. Since update 4.2, the crater in the city has disappeared and was filled in:
If you’re worried that the bounce pads have disappeared with the crater – no panic! You can now find them in the truck next to the crater.
What else has changed on the map? Moreover, since the last update, it is evident that something must be inside the crashed comet:
What is it? The theories about it are varied. Are we observing the villain freeing themselves from the meteor, culminating in a special mode at the end of Season 4? Or is Epic just cleverly building up the hype?
How could it continue throughout the season? It is becoming clear that Epic will distribute the cleanup efforts throughout the entire season. Therefore, it can be presumed that the craters will be filled and broken houses repaired.
What will happen to the large crater at Dusty Divot? If Epic indeed plans to repair the map piece by piece, they might also fill the Dusty Divot crater – and replace it with something big, like a city. The comet would be kept sealed in an underground vault until the mystery surrounding the celestial object is solved.
You notice it: Fortnite continues where they left off in Season 3 with the comet. The small changes to the map guarantee at least two things:
- The player experience remains fresh and exciting; there is something new to discover every week.
- Epic ensures that the hype around Fortnite: Battle Royale remains unbroken.
