The first players can already play Battlefield 2042 in certain parts of the world. This has led to the first videos of content surfacing that has been little known until now.
This includes a first longer look at the map Breakthrough, which amazes many users on reddit. The Specialist Sundance, flying with her wingsuit over a gigantic snow landscape, can be seen.

What map is this? The map Breakthrough is displayed. This Antarctic map is the clearly largest map in the game. According to DICE, Breakthrough is about 5.9 square kilometers large – and thus slightly larger than the battle royale map of Battlefield V.

Much criticism is directed at the map due to the yawning emptiness shown in the video. As great and impressive as the map looks: fans doubt that the massive sizes of the map can lead to entertaining action.
What do fans expect from the map now? Fans wonder how this map should be played when there seemingly exists so much empty space. The video makes it difficult to identify where the positions to be captured should be. There are too few buildings that could represent “points of interest” (via reddit).
Therefore, players believe that the map could only be fun with vehicles. Even for snipers, what is presented seems too large: It is even joked that snipers would need at least a 40x zoom scope to see enemies at all (via reddit). At release, however, there are only scopes up to 10x magnification available.

What does the video not show? Although the video shows much of the map, only a portion is visible. To the right of the character, the oil refinery, which makes up a large part of the map, can also be seen repeatedly in the video.
The wingsuit is not the only way to move quickly across the map. Vehicles are available to every player. In Battlefield 2042, players can also call for these via air transport for the first time. This way, players are never completely helpless in the snow.
