In Dragonflight, the most notorious Pandaren from World of Warcraft returns. And he will set things on fire again…
More and more players are getting a first impression of the beta of World of Warcraft Dragonflight, and with that, more details are being discovered. The Dragon Isles are full of old characters who want to build a new life here or simply experience an adventure. A Pandaren is coming back, someone you all surely miss painfully:
Nomi is back and he is ready to set things on fire.
Who is Nomi? The newest WoW players might not know who Nomi is, but those who have played since the time of the Legion expansion will probably break out into a cold sweat just by hearing this name.
Nomi was the cooking instructor in Legion, although calling him a “instructor” is quite a stretch. In practice, you drowned Nomi in cooking materials, hoping he would come up with a new recipe that you could use afterward.

In fact, Nomi burned the food completely in (seemingly) 99.99% of all cases, and you only received charred remains.
Since then, Nomi is considered the worst cook in World of Warcraft, whose main ingredient in each dish is clearly “fire”. Nomi was so notorious that the community wanted to blame him in some memes for the burning of Teldrassil.
In Dragonflight, he of course immediately references his “skills”:
Hello, friend! I have traveled to the Dragon Isles, with hope in my heart, to further refine my craft.
As I understand it, many dragons have a certain preference for the kind of cooking that I have a certain affinity for.
With this, Nomi is, of course, referring to the fiery breath of dragons, which simply ignites food and burns a lot – something Nomi already has plenty of experience with.
Dragonflight brings back many characters: Basically, Dragonflight seems to be an expansion where many old characters reappear and come back into focus. In addition to the major dragon aspects like Alexstrasza, Kalecgos, and Nozdormu, there is also a reunion with Khadgar and also Furorion, who gets into conflict with some other dragons.
Those who have followed the lore of Warcraft over the last two decades will likely find a lot of characters and see how their stories are continued.
A certain author named Schriebsen is also back and is writing a new, risqué romantic novel about a “hot” love night between his protagonist Markus and a dragon lady…
