In 2019, the European team G2 reached the finals of the World Championship at League of Legends, but narrowly lost to the current Chinese team, FunPlus Phoenix. It now appears that two stars of the team, the then ADC Lucas “Perkz” Perković and his jungler Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski, will be playing together again in 2025, but not in the professional LEC league, rather in a regional league of LoL. This has been made possible by a new rule change from Riot Games.
This is the latest trend in LoL: It started in Germany and the USA, where Twitch streamers who previously played professionally teamed up in LoL to play semi-competitively as “content creator” teams.
Recently, the English streamer Caedrel introduced his team “Los Ratones”, featuring world champion Rekkles and stars like Nemesis.
It seems that former top players Perkz and Jankos are returning. They are joining the team Ruddy Esports, as reported by Sheepesports. Allegedly, the team wants to play in the NCL, likely against Caedrel’s “Los Ratones”.
He is the head of the German streamer team NNO:
Riot Games eases the rules for streamers in regional leagues
Why is this happening now? For a long time, such streamer teams were not possible in attractive leagues because the rules made it difficult for streamers to play and stream at the same time. The German team NNO could not compete in the first division of the Prime League despite a spectacular rise and had to create its own team of new players.
However, Riot Games is now apparently changing this rule (via sheepesports), making such streamer teams possible and attractive:
- Teams are now allowed to co-stream all matches in the regional leagues, not just their own
- Participating players are also allowed to show themselves
The advantage of such creator teams is obvious: There are hours of good content. Viewers are there live when the streamers train, play, and joke with each other. Furthermore, there are valuable synergies among the streamers: Every LoL viewer gets to know new creators – a sure thing.
Perkz switches position again, apparently playing Toplane
This is how the team wants to play:
- Perkz is set to play on the Toplane – The Croatian was long the star in Europe, first on the Midlane, then as ADC. Now there seems to be another role swap.
- Jankos, the king of “First Bloods” is set to act in the Jungle
- Adam “LIDER” Ilyasov will play in the Midlane, he is a former LEC player from Astralis
- Jakob “Jackspektre” Kepple won the EU Masters in 2022 and then dominated in the Heretics’ development team
- Alf-Kristian “Nash” Sund has already played for Ruddy Esports
In an accompanying role, the large YouTuber IWilldDominate and the coach YamatoCannon are also expected to be part of the team.
2 Norwegians in the team to meet the requirements
It seems they will play in the Northern European Regional League NCL (UK+Scandinavia). Nash and Jackspektre are both Norwegians, which makes them “residents” and fulfills the requirement for the team to compete in the NCL.

What makes the team so appealing? Jankos and Perkz are among the biggest names in European LoL alongside Caps and Rekkles. Even though Perkz’s career has certainly not gone well in recent years: Initially, he made a lot of money moving to the USA but lost a good deal of his gameplay strength. Later, his attempt to lead a super-team in Europe with “Team Vitality” repeatedly failed and got worse each time.
But this will surely be a highly attractive team, especially for viewers. Currently, this team is not fully confirmed yet, even though everything suggests that the five will play together. The German team NNO is also considering switching to the league: LoL: Team of German Twitch streamers no longer wants to play in Germany after issues with the league
