The head of XDefiant is a passionate shooter player and shares with you his favorite weapon setups from the open beta.
XDefiant is a new first-person shooter being developed by Ubisoft and is set to be released in summer 2023. Various PvP modes are played such as domination and payload, where you play with different factions from Ubisoft titles.
After a closed test of XDefiant took place in April 2023, the shooter currently invites you to an open beta. This has been playable since June 21 and offers the opportunity to try out the various weapons and their setups before the release of the shooter.
Who is it about? Mark Rubin is the executive producer at Ubisoft and the head of XDefiant. On Twitter, the developer is very communicative and passionate about XDefiant.
But Rubin does not only talk about identified bugs, updates, or future plans, he also actively plays the shooter himself. For the open beta, he has now shared two weapon setups that he is currently having a lot of fun with.

What are weapon setups? In XDefiant, there are 24 weapons with 44 different attachments. You can decide for yourself what components your weapons consist of. Your choice then affects various factors such as firing rate, damage at medium or short range, or ADS time.
Overall, you can change five out of seven components per weapon. The available options are: the muzzle, the barrel, the front grip, the sight, the magazine, the rear grip, and the stock.

Mark Rubin’s P90:
Mark Rubin’s P90 setup relies on the “fast fire” barrel for an increased firing rate and combines it with a magazine that reduces reload time. Additionally, a muzzle is installed that increases damage at short and medium ranges. The “super light” front grip further increases your character’s movement speed.

Rubin refers to the P90 setup on Twitter as his personal go-to loadout, as the submachine gun has received a buff with the open beta and now has a higher headshot multiplier (Patch notes via Ubisoft.com).
Mark Rubin’s Vector .45 ACP
With his vector setup, Mark Rubin focuses on high movement speed and fast movement. He achieves this through the “folding stock”, light barrel, and the “super light” front grip. Rubin forgoes a sight in favor of the barrel extension and the extended magazine.

According to Rubin, the vector setup offers one of the fastest barrel speeds in the game and “shreds” opponents, especially at close range (via Twitter). However, as it is said to be weak at long distances, you must try to get as close to your opponents as possible.
Bonus: M60 machine gun setup from the closed beta
During the closed beta in April 2023, Rubin occasionally showed weapon setups that convinced him. One of them is for the M60 machine gun and is said by Rubin to “melt” the health bars of your opponents (via Twitter).
The core aspect of the M60 setup is primarily the increased firing rate in combination with an increased reload speed.
