For a long time, WoW fans have waited, and now the toughest game mode begins next week. You are completely on your own.
Those who are inclined towards the Classic worlds of World of Warcraft and are looking for a special challenge should venture into the “Hardcore” mode. Here, you have only one life, and if you die, your whole journey is over.
But it gets even tougher. In the “Solo Self Found” mode, you are completely on your own. This is likely to be the hardest challenge in WoW Classic yet – and it starts next week.
What kind of mode is this? In the “Solo Self Found” mode, the basic settings of “Hardcore” apply – meaning that you have only one life, and in case of failure, you lose your character and must delete them or transfer to another realm.
However, with the “Self Found” option, additional restrictions come into play:
- You cannot send or receive mail to or from other players.
- You cannot buy or sell anything at the auction house.
- You cannot trade with other players in any way.
In short: Other players are indeed present in the game world, but most social interactions with them that would lead to an improvement of your character are not possible.
When does it start? The “Solo Self Found” mode starts next week, on Thursday, February 29. From then on, this option will be added to the existing “Hardcore” realms. With an additional setting, you can specify during character creation that you want to take on this special challenge.
In any case, this variant requires a bit more planning. You should already know in advance what professions the character will learn to be self-sufficient. Because “just buying a stack of ore at the auction house” for engineering won’t work.
Will you take on this particularly tough HC challenge in WoW Classic? Or can you not relate to it at all?
A player also spends years of their life driving others crazy in the HC challenge.
