Gigantamax battles in Pokémon GO are usually quite a challenge. However, the Dynamax boss Inteleon had no chance at the ongoing GO Fest in Paris.
This weekend, the local GO Fest is taking place in Paris, before the global GO Fest in two weeks is scheduled. We at MeinMMO are also on-site as press representatives at the invitation of Niantic. Currently, a lot of trainers are out in Parc de Sceaux to catch Pokémon. One of them is the current Gigantamax boss: Inteleon.
The Gigantamax battles are among the toughest challenges in the game, and the Inteleon battle is currently the hardest thing you can do in the game. They are designed for 20 to 40 trainers – and this poses the problem for many in everyday life, that these special battles are hardly achievable. And if it does succeed, they are often long, close fights that can only just be won.
Here in Paris, however, things looked very different at 11:00 AM. The Pokémon appeared as a boss and suddenly faced a group of 837 trainers. You can imagine what the battle looked like. Or just check it out here:
The battle with 837 players against Gigantamax-Inteleon went like this
It took exactly 90 seconds for Gigantamax-Inteleon to collapse under the flood of attacks. A defeat was, atypical for Gigantamax battles, pretty much excluded. Because the group of 837 trainers sent a total of 2379 Pokémon into battle that Inteleon probably wouldn’t have defeated even if they were all Wollys.
But that wasn’t the case. Some of the best counters against Inteleon were present. So it really didn’t take long until the battle was over. Healing was not needed, shields were not needed. The battle, which usually requires a certain tactic, was simply decided by sheer numbers.
However, the Gigantamax boss held out a bit longer than expected. While the hardest raids with enough trainers really end in moments, Gigantamax-Inteleon even managed to survive the first Dynamax phase. Shortly after that, however, it was over.
What does a Gigantamax battle usually look like?
The difficult battles are not easy to tackle – especially because it is usually so complicated to gather the necessary number of trainers. Dyna battles also require a bit more strategy than regular raids do. The use of the right counters, attacks, shields, and healing phases can determine whether the battle is won or not. Finally, at least the possibility to join these battles via remote raid passes was added. This gives you a slightly better chance of winning the fights.
