The loot in Borderlands 3 is pretty crazy. A weapon doesn’t fire ammunition, it simply creates other weapons!
Borderlands 3 was released a few days ago and over the weekend, many players have already blitzed through the campaign and collected numerous weapons. One of them had already gained significant attention before the release as it was prominently featured in the trailer: a weapon that fires other weapons, the Eridian Fabricator.
How do you get the Eridian Fabricator? The good news first: You can’t miss this weapon. It is a quest reward during the main story in the mission “Footsteps of Giants.” Every player is guaranteed to receive it. However, it is only available relatively late in the game, just before the end. So you need to have completed a significant portion of the story to obtain this weapon.
What exactly does the Eridian Fabricator do? The Eridian Fabricator, also affectionately called “Gun Gun,” doesn’t deal damage but has another cool effect: With each shot, it creates 10 different weapons that then lie on the ground. The weapons are at least of unusual (“green”) quality, but can also be better.
Although the Eridian Fabricator counts as a rocket launcher, it consumes 10 Eridium with each shot! This makes using the weapon expensive. However, that’s not a problem if you follow our tips for farming Eridium.
Can you get legendaries? Allegedly, the weapon is also capable of producing legendary weapons. At least, that’s what the developers have said. However, the chance seems to be incredibly low, as many players report that they’ve spent more than 1000 Eridium but haven’t seen a legendary weapon yet.
The difficulty level seems to have no impact on the quality of the weapons.
There are still plenty of other weapons that are Easter eggs:
- A One-Punch-Man weapon
- A weapon for the streamer DrDisrespect
- A weapon from the Balrog from “The Lord of the Rings”
What do all these weapons bring? Still, the chances are high that you’ll find an upgrade quickly among all the weapons that you or a friend can use. Alternatively, the weapon can also be used to convert Eridium into cash. You can simply pick up the produced weapons and then sell them to get cash. You can then invest that in upgrades to gain more inventory space or larger ammunition capacities.
What do you think of the Eridian Fabricator? Is it a cool weapon? Or does it take away the thrill of other loot?
