We wanted to know if you find the grind in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth to be too harsh, and you answered. Once again, our readership is divided.
After the first players reached the maximum level 120 in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, the journey into endgame content began. As is customary for WoW, there is a lot to do. Artifact power needs to be collected, gear needs to be farmed, and preparations for raids need to be made.
Our community largely finds the grind okay
However, discontent quickly spread in the official forums, on Reddit, and Twitter. Many players found Battle for Azeroth to be too grind-heavy.
We conducted a survey to find out how our readers feel about this. Here are the results.
- 38% (or nearly two-fifths) of our readers believe that there is currently too much grind in World of Warcraft. Particularly the reputation factions and artifact power are frequently mentioned, which unlocks Azerite abilities.
- 54% of the players, however, believe that the grind in World of Warcraft is perfectly fine. If you want something, you have to work for it. They don’t want all rewards to be available on day one, and only if you work for something does it have a certain value.
- 8% of our readers cannot understand all the fuss anyway. In their opinion, there is way too little grind in Battle for Azeroth, and they would like even more opportunities to farm or grind additional things.

- Damian: “I think what bothers me most about the grind in WoW is the continuous repetition. There should be a greater variety of world quests, changing dungeons, etc.”
- Steed: “I’m always shocked at how many people want to put little time into an MMORPG, yet still want to play it.”
- TJ: “Honestly? If you want to progress raid, you need to expect that and prepare for it. Those who are just casual don’t need everything to be maxed out right away and can take it easy accordingly. It all fits.”
