Total War: Warhammer 3 celebrates the release of Patch 6.1 today. With many changes, even one of the weakest factions becomes stronger, and fans can hardly wait to see the two-headed Chaos demon Kairos in action.
Which faction is meant? Total War: Warhammer 3 is the largest strategy game in the series (via steamcharts), where you can engage in huge real-time battles in the well-known franchise and prove yourself with your army.
With Patch 6.1 recently released, many changes have been made, including adjustments for the Tzeentch faction, which has been languishing in the southern part of the world map since the game’s release. However, Kairos is now supposed to be more powerful, and fans are curious how this will play out on the battlefield.
Powerful Chaos Demon Suffered from Poor Starting Location
What was the problem with Kairos? Kairos was a powerful hero in himself. However, he had one of the worst starting positions in Total War: Warhammer 3. The winged demon Kairos starts all the way in the south of the map: His natural conquest campaign leads him eastward.
However, he is also attacked by a strong enemy faction coming from the west.
Therefore, his campaign is considered particularly difficult, as if you’re not careful, you can lose your capital to a deviously operating guerrilla lizard within just a few rounds. Also, Kairos’s abilities are designed so that it takes him a while to become strong.
“Time to Play Kairos”
This is how Warhammer 3 is now changing Kairos: There are some changes in Kairos’s gameplay mechanics. He gets a new skill tree, and the way he builds and when he receives certain units has also changed.
However, the most important change is that Kairos now starts with two cities, one remains in the south, but a second city is far in the north.
What do players say about Kairos? According to fans, they are curious to see how Kairos can now assert himself in the game after his changes. Rare_Cobalt on Reddit thinks it’s phenomenal that Kairos is now allowed to start with two cults. Other players agree and add:
- “This will also make the achievement for the unique building much less difficult. That was one of the last achievements I unlocked.” – reasonrob
- “There was a recent discussion where this was brought up as an idea for the demon princes to give them more options, as some starting cults are already established, and I am very glad they implemented it because it’s a great idea to bring more variety.” – trixie_one
- “I’m a big fan of Kairos getting 2 starting cults. That means you can teleport over and change the starting position for those who don’t want endless hordes of skirmishing lizards! Looks like 1 in Bretonnia and 1 in the northern Chaos deserts.” – baddude1337
- “Yes, an incredibly good change.” – buggy_environment
- “Time to play Kairos” – billiebol
Were these all the changes? Besides Kairos, the Kislev faction has also received many changes. So many, in fact, that our Warhammer expert Benedict Grothaus mentioned that the developers changed almost everything about Kislev.
