The Summer Sale is currently running on Steam, and once again many games related to Warhammer are included – among them Total War: Warhammer 3. The strategy game is the largest in the series and ranks among the best games in the Warhammer universe. Right now, you can save a decent amount, but you’ll still have to pay a significant sum if you want the full experience.
What kind of game is this?
- Total War: Warhammer 3 is currently one of the best strategy games. The game combines turn-based global strategy where you build settlements and manage diplomatic connections with real-time battles.
- You play in the harsh world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is essentially the “medieval” version of Warhammer 40,000. As factions, you can choose from Dwarfs, Elves, Humans, Chaos, or the vile ratmen of the Skaven.
- The game offers a standard campaign as well as a skirmish campaign (“Realms of the Undying”), which you can play solo or in co-op with up to 8 players.
What’s on sale now: In the current Steam Summer Sale, all parts of Total War: Warhammer as well as all DLCs are on offer. The special offer runs from June 26 to July 10, 2025. You can save a decent amount:
- You can get the latest installment, Total War: Warhammer 3, for €20.39 instead of €59.99 on Steam.
- If you want Total War: Warhammer 3 including all DLCs for the game, you pay €83.83 instead of €157.89 on Steam.
- The bundle with all three parts without DLCs costs €47.85 instead of €170.97 on Steam.
- All DLCs without base games are also on sale, but not as a bundle. Here you pay €175.26 (you can find the option on the Steam page for Total War: Warhammer 3).
So if you want all three games including all DLCs, it will still cost you over €220 – despite the sale. This has often led to criticism; however, as a newcomer, you don’t need to worry about this.

You only need the latest installment, Total War: Warhammer 3, to have a nearly complete experience. Both the “Realms of Chaos” campaign and the massive Immortal Empires mode with over 280 factions are included here.
All DLCs provide you with playable factions or sometimes just legendary Lords, which are akin to sub-factions with special traits. Certain factions are included in the base games, while others have standalone DLC:
- In Total War: Warhammer, the Empire, Dwarfs, Greenskins, Vampire Lords, and Chaos Warriors are included.
- With Total War: Warhammer 2, you get High Elves, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, and Skaven.
- Total War: Warhammer 3 includes the four Chaos Gods as well as the Grand Empire of Cathay and Kislev.
- Bretonnia, Norsca, Beastmen, Wood Elves, Tomb Kings, Vampire Coast, Chaos Dwarfs, and Ogre Kingdoms are each standalone DLCs.
If you are only interested in certain factions, it’s sufficient to buy Total War: Warhammer 3 along with the corresponding DLC. You don’t need the old base games additionally – they only bring the mentioned factions with them.
