In FIFA 19, EA Sports promised a TOTS player for every fan who watched the FIFA 19 World Cup final via Twitch. So many took advantage of this offer that there are now problems.
What kind of gift is this? Last Sunday, on 04.08., the final of the FIFAeWorldCup took place. This is the World Cup of FIFA 19.
To attract numerous viewers for this event, EA Sports launched a giveaway. Every fan who watched the spectacle on Sunday through the EA Sports Twitch channel was to receive a TOTS player from one of the top 5 leagues immediately afterward.
What are TOTS players? These are players from the Teams of the Season of FIFA 19. From May to June, TOTS players with outstanding ratings were released in FUT – highly-rated player cards from the best players of the season from various leagues.
These TOTS cards can enhance any Ultimate Team, and are therefore as sought after as they are rare.
Therefore, countless FIFA fans did not want to miss out on participating in this giveaway for the FIFA 19 World Cup.
Players are still waiting for their cards
This is the problem: EA communicated in advance that at the end of the World Cup stream, all participating viewers would receive their guaranteed TOTS pack containing an untradeable TOTS player.
However, these rewards are now taking time.
This is what EA Sports says about the annoyance: Shortly after the stream, EA Sports wrote via Twitter that it will take some time to process the TOTS packs. The reason given is: “There were really a lot of you in the stream.”
The gift was so good that more viewers came than expected. EA did not anticipate such a surge.
Just a few hours ago, EA gave another update. A few players have since received their packs, but they are still working to ensure all viewers receive their deserved prize. Processing so many account details is not a fast process, but they are on it. The verification process is taking time.
This means: If you watched the stream, you will still receive your pack. It just takes longer than expected. Some players have already expressed concerns on reddit that they might never receive their pack and that some errors might have occurred.
These were the requirements for the TOTS reward: You had to link your EA account with your Twitch account and watch the final stream of the FIFA 19 World Cup on Sundays.
By the way: The FIFA 19 World Champion was a German, Mohammed “MoAuba” Harkous.
