Publishers and developers around the world want to be part of the Opening Night Live (ONL) of the gamescom in August 2022. A website now reveals how much it costs for participants.
The Opening Night Live of gamescom is an important event in the gaming world year after year. Numerous development studios and publishers use this prestigious opportunity to showcase their latest projects and to present impressive trailers for upcoming games.
In addition to numerous editorially selected content that are selected free of charge for the show, part of the event is based on advertising bookings. For the year 2022, gamescom has now revealed how much it costs to be part of the show if your project was not specifically selected.
How much does it cost? As gamescom reveals on its own website, the price of a presentation at the Opening Night Live depends on how long the presentation is (via gamescom.global).
There are details for presentations ranging from 30 to 120 seconds.

Trailers & Gameplay Reveals
What can be shown? The Opening Night Live, hosted again by Geoff Keighley, is supposed to provide not only new game announcements and trailers but also gameplay reveals and first looks at the events of gamescom 2022.
A benchmark for the expected content could be a look back at the past year. At gamescom 2021, we saw 42 new trailers. Among them was the announcement trailer for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the multiplayer trailer for the shooter CrossfireX, and the open beta date for New World.
What prerequisites must be met? In addition to the costs that developers or publishers must pay for a spot at the ONL, there is another requirement for the advertising booking: The coveted spots are only awarded to publishers/developers who are present on site as the number of spots is very limited.
It is not known under what conditions the editorially determined content of the ONL is selected.
When is the Opening Night Live of gamescom 2022? The Opening Night Live of gamescom 2022 takes place on August 23 from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM German time.
