In Red Dead Redemption 2 many are waiting for story DLC for the singleplayer mode. However, Rockstar Games is likely taking the same approach with RDR 2 as with GTA 5. DLCs are coming, but online. The characters from the campaign are now appearing in Red Dead Online.
This is how RDR2 releases DLC: New content for Red Dead Redemption 2 is released at regular intervals, but for the online mode. New game modes appear there every few weeks. New missions are also included.
It is interesting that Rockstar Games has recently been using content from the campaign for the DLC in the online mode, such as characters. In doing so, the developers are at least partially responding to the wishes of the players.
Because cowboys have been calling for story DLCs since the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 in October. They want to get to know or continue the story of Arthur and members of his gang in more detail.

With one of the latest updates, Red Dead Redemption 2 brings in two women in multiplayer, whom players know well from singleplayer. This is likely to entice campaign lovers into the online mode. Because offline, in the main story, there are no new contents that continue the story.
It is similar with another successful title from Rockstar Games: GTA 5.
This is how GTA 5 releases DLC: Fans of Grand Theft Auto 5 also wished for DLCs that continue the story. They hoped these additional contents would give insight into other characters who were short-changed in the story.
After all, Rockstar also brought such content to GTA 4 with the biker DLC “The Lost and Damned” and the story “The Ballad of Gay Tony.” These were purchasable DLCs for singleplayer.

However, an offline DLC that continues the story of GTA 5 has not yet been released.
Instead, new content is regularly being released for the online mode. For GTA Online, the nightclub DLC was released, bringing back a familiar face: Gay Tony.
Players can use the online DLCs, if they wish, to a certain extent even solo.
The great wish for story DLC for singleplayer remains
Is that enough for fans of RDR2? Regularly, one reads in the Reddit community of Red Dead Redemption 2 the wish for a story DLC for the offline mode.
The desires vary widely:
- Remake of RDR 1 as DLC for RDR 2
- A special story DLC with Charles or Sadie Adler
- General singleplayer DLC instead of just online updates
- A DLC that takes place in Mexico
- A DLC to find the missing character Gavin

There are hardly any limits to creativity. Players find a lot of potential for story DLCs. They hope that Rockstar will eventually incorporate these into the singleplayer mode.
But at the moment there is no indication that Rockstar will veer from its path: There will be DLCs for Red Dead Redemption 2, but as updates for Red Dead Online.
Do you also wish for a story DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2 in offline mode, or are you satisfied if familiar faces are brought into the online mode?
Also in other areas, RDR 2 is somewhat similar to GTA 5:
