Some players in the community of The First Descendant were concerned that the developers might nerf a strong build for Gley, but they have now eased those concerns.
Which build is being discussed? There is a so-called “Infinite Ammo/Magazine” build for the descendant “Gley”. With this build, Gley can continuously shoot without needing to reload by using her abilities “Frenzy” and “Enhanced Senses.”
With the build, you can deal significant damage, especially against bosses, when using weapons like the “Tamer.” This is a rare machine gun. The “Tamer” is considered a damage monster that melts bosses, even though it is not an ultimate weapon.
Part of the community feared that the developers might nerf the build, but they have now eased those concerns.
Infinite ammo is very strong, but within limits
What do the developers say? On June 11, Hotfix 1.0.2 went live. In the patch notes, the developers explain that there are currently no plans to nerf the Infinite Ammo build. While it is very strong, it is within the scope of what was intended.
We have noticed that the community is concerned about possible nerfs for Tamer and Gley’s infinite magazine builds. This meta is very strong, but since it falls within what the development team has planned, there are no immediate plans to change it. […]
We were already looking forward to seeing how the descendants utilize creative builds to quickly defeat powerful colossi, and we are therefore very pleased to see this in action now.

Subsequently, the developers of the loot shooter challenged players to put even more effort into building builds.
What kind of challenge did the developers present? The team behind The First Descendant not only promised in the patch notes not to nerf the Infinite Ammo build but also challenged players to create other, even better builds.
The developers stated that there are stronger weapons than the “Tamer” machine gun and that some character builds can keep up with Gley’s Infinite Ammo, and that you should enjoy them in their entirety.
Gley: Infinite Ammo Build
How does the build actually work? The build is based on two abilities of Gley: Frenzy and Enhanced Senses.
- Frenzy
- Consumes health points (HP) to activate the Frenzy state.
- In the Frenzy state, weapon attack and penetration (buff) are increased.
- Additionally, damage taken is increased and HP recovery is decreased (debuff).
- Enhanced Senses
- Grants you unlimited ammunition for a certain time while in the Frenzy state.
- Outside the Frenzy state, movement speed, HP recovery, and the generation rate of health orbs are increased.
You want to create a gameplay loop using these two abilities that you repeat continuously: First, you activate Frenzy, then you activate Enhanced Senses. Now you have temporary unlimited ammunition. You can see this while shooting, as no bullets are removed from the magazine despite the continuous fire.
Once you activate “Enhanced Senses,” the cooldown for the ability also starts. Your goal now is to reduce the cooldown for “Enhanced Senses” through your reactor and modules so that it expires before the ability ends. The content creator Dakquan on YouTube will show you what your build should look like for that.
If you successfully build it, you can reactivate “Enhanced Senses” immediately after it expires and repeat this as long as the boss is eliminated.
