The First Descendant: Patch Notes for 1.0.2 – New update introduces a feature that players have wished for

In The First Descendant, Hotfix 1.0.2 has been released, bringing an important feature that players have wished for since the release. Additionally, the game’s director comments on potential nerfs.

Matchmaking is an important topic in the community of The First Descendant. Players desire the feature as they believe it would help keep the game alive. As previously announced, this feature now follows with the current hotfix.

The highlights from the hotfix:

• Matchmaking has been added for the hard mode of Infiltration Operations.
• The quantity of rare basic materials from Encrypted Vaults has increased.
• Elite Vulgus can also now drop rare basic materials.
• The dialogue texts in the tutorial are no longer as fast, making them easier to read.

When will Hotfix 1.0.2 go live? According to Nexon, the hotfix should have gone live today, July 11, 2024. The hotfix is being released simultaneously on all platforms.

Developers comment on potential nerfs

In the notes for the hotfix, there are also comments from the Game Director. He mentions builds of the descendant Gley with the weapon Tamer, allowing players to have an infinite magazine. However, he explains that players shouldn’t be worried. While the build is quite strong, it is still within the intended framework.

Another topic is allegedly variable drop rates. The director denies this, stating that there are no variable drop rates, and everything is fixed as indicated in the game. This apparently has been tested again.

At the same time, he announces that they are preparing ways for an improved farming experience. However, which ones exactly are not mentioned here.
