The developers of The First Descendant have given players hope for a buff for farm spots, but that was just a mistake. Now they apologize.
The developers of The First Descendant have received a lot of praise in recent weeks. They communicate a lot and transparently with the community, explain changes, and respond to player feedback and requests.
They even announced that they will not nerf an extremely strong build for Gley. This is well received by the loot shooter fans, who may be used to something different from the competition.
However, despite all the positive impressions of the past weeks, the developers now had to apologize to the players for a false statement.
False Hopes for Gold Farming
Why do they have to apologize? Nexon made a statement a few days ago about the so-called “Valby Run.” This is a method where players run in a circle with the descendant “Valby” at a specific outpost to farm heaps of gold and XP.
In the statement, the developers said that the Valby Run should remain a way to farm, and they would adjust other farm spots to the level. Therefore, there should be no nerf. Players had high hopes that the brilliant gold farm would remain intact.
Shortly thereafter, however, Nexon corrected the statement and clarified: There is no buff for other farming opportunities but a nerf of the Valby Run. Now the developers apologized and explained how the apparent change of opinion came about.

What is the developers’ apology? As the developers explained on the official Discord server of the game, they did not simply change their mind. Instead, the original Korean text from Nexon was misinterpreted during the translation into English.
It was never intended to give players the hope that the “Valby Run” would be spared from nerfs and that other farm spots would be buffed instead. Furthermore, they apologized for the confusion.

We apologize for the confusion caused by the misinterpretation during the translation process of the original Korean text. We have not reversed any decisions, and our original statement remains that we do not intend to restrict the playstyle of the Valby Run. However, as we have already mentioned, we want to adjust the reward efficiency at the fort outpost to balance it with other areas. We apologize again for any confusion in our communication and will do our best to be as clear as possible.
What happens with the “Valby Run” now? According to the latest statement, the farm spot can continue to be played as it is currently played. Nevertheless, there will be a nerf in the form of a degradation of the drops.
The drops are expected to be at the level of the other farm spots, which will remain as they are – there is no buff.
