In The First Descendant, you need to farm XP to level up your weapons and descendants. To help you get this done quickly, we show you a method that is time-saving and profitable.
How to level up quickly: Currently, there is only one efficient method to level up quickly in The First Descendant, and that is through the Albion defense missions. To do this, open the terminal for special operations and select the defense mission in Kingston. Once there, you just need to play the activity and eliminate as many enemies as possible.
The YouTuber Moxsy also recommends starting the defense mission in Echo Swamp at higher levels of your descendant (between levels 10 – 15). The map layout there is better, allowing you to kill your enemies more efficiently to farm XP.
However, you need to pay attention to a few things if you take this form of XP farming.
What should I pay attention to? You can use special XP tokens while farming that can increase your XP yield. Use these when approaching the defense mission with other players. This way, you can ensure that you reach higher levels of the mission. More levels mean more XP, as you can fight the aliens for a longer time.
Additionally, you should know that you cannot approach the defense missions passively. This means you have to actively shoot at enemies and defeat them to generate XP. If you just sit around and let your teammates take the lead, you’ll end up getting nothing.
Why are defense missions the most rewarding? YouTuber Moxsy specifically points out to choose the Albion defense missions, which go up to level 21.
He himself does not know why, but there is a hidden mechanic that can reward you with a crystallization catalyst after completing level 21. This rare item is important for socketing more modules into your descendants.
So with this method, you can, with a bit of luck, collect crystallization catalysts while efficiently leveling up your descendants. You can find more about the Encrypted Vaults in our guide here: The First Descendant: Encrypted Vaults – What is it and how do you find them?
