In Destiny 2, the Gjallarhorn and the Ace of Spades are iconic, but what is the most iconic weapon in the loot shooter The First Descendant? MeinMMO asked the developers and they responded.
What kind of game is this? The First Descendant is a free-to-play loot shooter from Nexon. Alone or in co-op, you fight against an invasion that threatens humanity’s survival. You have the choice between several Descendants – heroes with special abilities.
Today, August 8, 2025, Season 3: Breakthrough begins. This brings, among other things, the Axion Plains as a large battlefield, a hoverbike, and the new Descendant Nell. Descendant Boost Up and Boost Path are designed to help new players get started in the game.

Developers reveal the “secret weapon” of The First Descendant
MeinMMO talked to the developers: During this, the question arose as to which weapon from The First Descendant is the most iconic. Especially in loot shooters, there are often those that remain memorable to fans and are eventually considered essential.
Two such weapons from Destiny 2 are, for example, the rocket launcher Gjallarhorn and the Ace of Spades, an exotic hand cannon with a revolver design.
According to developer Nexon, there have been weapons that dominated the meta at various times – but there is currently not a truly iconic weapon on the level of the Gjallarhorn or the Ace of Spades in the game yet. However, the team does have a kind of “secret weapon”:
While we may not have such a weapon yet, we do have a character that represents our game’s identity, Bunny. She’s been incredibly well-loved and has become the face of The First Descendant.
On July 25, the developers released a video in which Bunny reacts to nasty comments from players. You can watch the scenes on YouTube. This has been received as “phenomenal” by fans, making Bunny’s status as the game’s mascot even clearer.
