The poison expert Freyna has her strengths in damage over time. With this build, however, you can destroy the bosses in The First Descendant in seconds.
What kind of build is this? Freyna’s specialty is dealing poison damage. Therefore, we want to primarily cause damage over time (DoT) with the damage dealer. In boss fights, especially Freyna’s ult is a powerful tool that deals significant damage.
In her ult, Freyna switches to a weapon that fires toxic bullets. To maximize the potential of the ult, we need to enhance weapon stats such as magazine size and fire rate. It is also important to boost our abilities.

The build presented here is based on the recommendations of YouTuber MxgicIQ.
How do you get the most out of the build? Ideally, you should follow a specific pattern during the boss fight to deal even more damage with the build.
- Switch to your secondary weapon “Lost Hope” during the boss fight.
- Use your poison skills on the boss to activate the ultimate perk of “Lost Hope” and increase your firearm damage.
- Fire a shot with “Lost Hope” and reload to activate the weapon module “Fire Fiesta”.
- Switch to the Python – Fire Fiesta remains active.
- Shoot the weak points of the boss with the Python.
- When the boss goes down, activate your ult (fourth ability: Poison Baptism).
If the cooldown of Fire Fiesta has already expired, you can switch back to “Lost Hope”, fire another shot, and trigger Fire Fiesta once again. If you start Poison Baptism with Fire Fiesta activated, you will temporarily not consume ammunition with the ability, allowing you to deal even more damage.
Freyna Build – Reactor, External Components, and Modules
Reactor: Toxic Mechanic Reactor
Why this reactor? The Toxic Mechanic Reactor is suitable for the Freyna build for several reasons. Firstly, it has the optimization condition that you must equip the ultimate assault rifle “Lost Hope” and thus receive a bonus of 160% to your skill strength. Lost Hope is a good weapon for Freyna due to the special ultimate perk, especially when eliminating mobs.
Additionally, the reactor increases your “Toxic Skill Boost Ratio” and your “Tech Skill Boost Ratio”, which enhances the use of your abilities and further improves the build.
External Components: Metzler Set
| Power Source | Metzler Auxillary Unit |
| Sensor | Metzler Sensor |
| Processor | Metzler Storage |
| Processor | Metzler Processor |
Why these external components? The Metzler set has a set bonus that particularly benefits you when using your ultimate ability “Poison Baptism”.
- If you have equipped two components of the set, you increase your ammunition capacity by 8 percent.
- If you have equipped four components of the set, you additionally increase your ammunition per magazine by 9 percent, your skill costs by 15 percent, and your skill strength by 26.1 percent.
Thus, through the set effects, you deal more damage with Poison Baptism and can shoot longer with it, as the increase in ammunition per magazine also affects the ability.
Descendant Modules
Why these modules? The modules are designed to deal even more damage with your skills, especially your ultimate ability “Poison Baptism”. Accordingly, a large part of the chosen modules increases your skill strength, skill critical damage, and skill critical hit rate.
Here you can see all the used descendant modules again and what they do:
| Neurotoxin Synthesis | Changes the effect of “Room-0-Trauma”: does not spread poisoning, but adds “Damage Reduction” and “Regeneration Weakening”. |
| Condition Combat | Increases max HP and skill duration. |
| Skill Concentration | Increases skill critical damage. |
| Spear and Shield | Increases Evasion and skill strength. |
| Dangerous Ambush | On successful skill attack while the opponent is not targeting you: Increases skill strength. On skill attack against immobilized enemies: Increases skill strength. |
| Strength Maximization | Increases skill strength modifier, increases skill cooldown. |
| Frontlines | Increases skill critical damage and skill critical hit rate. |
| Skill Insight / Increased HP | Increases skill critical hit rate/increases max HP. |
| Emergency Measures | Increases skill critical hit rate and skill critical damage. |
| Poison Specialist | Increases poison skill strength. |
| Poison Syncytium | Increases resistance to critical hits; increases poison skill strength. |
Freyna Build: Weapons – Python & Lost Hope
In this Freyna build, you use the two ultimate weapons “Python” and “Lost Hope”. Both weapons synergize particularly well with Freyna’s poison abilities thanks to their ultimate perks and allow her to deal high damage.
Why should you use these weapons? When you shoot a weak point with the Python, the opponent is inflicted with the “Loot” effect thanks to the ultimate perk of the submachine gun. Loot decreases the defense and poison resistance of the affected opponent by 10 percent. This means you can deal even more damage to a boss – especially with your skill “Poison Baptism”.
When you shoot a poisoned opponent with “Lost Hope”, it increases your firearm damage. Additionally, poisoned enemies explode when you eliminate them with “Lost Hope”. This explosion deals additional damage to nearby enemies. Furthermore, nearby enemies are also poisoned by the explosion.
How do you best use the weapons? The assault rifle “Lost Hope” is very effective for taking out mobs. On the other hand, the Python is very strong for boss fights. The two weapons not only complement each other well, but they also combine excellently in a boss fight:
If you first poison a boss with your poison skills, then shoot at them with “Lost Hope” and subsequently switch to Python, the Python also benefits from the boost of the firearm damage from “Lost Hope”.
