The First Descendant could receive an important feature for quickly traveling the world. What does Nexon say about it?
What feature is it? To be able to quickly traverse the worlds of video games, many games today have vehicles or mounts that allow players to travel across the map.
This has become standard in many MMOs and is very helpful as maps continue to grow larger and more expansive.
In The First Descendant, however, you have to traverse the world on foot or use fast travel. Vehicles or mounts are currently not available, but this could change in the future.

What do the developers say about the feature? The online magazine DotEsports asked the developers of The First Descendant whether there is a possibility that the individual map areas of the shooter could eventually be connected into a large open world and also include mounts.
Nexon responded: “We are still considering open-world and mounts. Nothing has been decided yet!” So there is hope for mounts or vehicles.
Currently, however, there are no official plans for upcoming means of transport. Nothing regarding vehicles or mounts is visible on the 2024 roadmap either (via x.com). Therefore, we will probably have to wait a bit longer until there are concrete details on this.
Less Time Traveling, More Time Grinding
Why are vehicles and mounts useful in The First Descendant? To explore the world of the shooter quickly and comfortably, vehicles and mounts are particularly suitable. Of course, you can also use fast travel points to get from A to B, but that also involves loading screens. A short march or ride on a horse can make the journey to the next mission more immersive.
Additionally, you will frequently be sent back and forth between different objectives within a mission. This can take up a lot of time when farming for materials, which players would rather spend grinding for equipment. A mount can speed up the gameplay loop.
