After showcasing its gameplay, the new MMO Magic: Legends has also revealed the first details about the classes that you will play.
What classes are there? To save the multiverse of Magic from destruction, you will have a total of 5 different classes to choose from in the MMO. Two of them are now known.
The first is the Mind-Mage, which could also be referred to as the Telepath. He is designed to fight enemies from a distance.
With his abilities, he can control projectiles and additionally influence his enemies by putting them to sleep or charming them to fight on his side. He is based on the blue cards from the “Magic: The Gathering” card game, which are generally designed for control and countering the opponent’s actions.
The second class is the Geomancer. This class draws its power from the elements of fire and earth, which is reflected in its abilities. The Geomancer can overwhelm his opponents with stone and lava attacks from close range.
It also helps him that he can summon a stone shield that protects him from attacks. In battle, the mage is supported by creatures like goblins, Kavu, or earth elementals if he decides to summon them. The Geomancer is based on the red cards of Magic.
Since the first two classes are based on the colors and aspects of the Magic cards, it can be assumed that this will also be the case for other classes.

What are Planeswalkers? The classes from Magic: Legends are Planeswalkers. In the universe of Magic, they are among the most powerful creatures that can wander freely between different worlds.
Many of them are deeply rooted in the lore of the card game and played important roles in major events that took place in the past. In the game itself, they are special cards that cannot be “killed,” but usually disappear from the battlefield when their loyalty to the player fades.
Also, in the actual card game, players at the table embody Planeswalkers. It makes sense, therefore, that these powerful beings represent the classes in the MMO.
What regions are there? In addition to the classes, the first two regions were also presented, where you will be adventuring. These are Shiv and Benalia, both located on the plane of Dominaria.
Shiv is a large island known for its hostile volcanic terrain. The waters around the island are so hot that only a few creatures can survive in them. The land itself is inhabited by goblins, Ghitu tribes, ogres, and dragons.
Due to the intense volcanic activity, Shiv is considered one of the strongest sources of red mana and thematically fits well with the Geomancer class.
Benalia, on the other hand, is a powerful nation located on the continent of Aerona. The region features various terrains such as:
- deep forests
- dark swamps
- vast plains
The people of Benalia are at war with Cabalists who can summon demons and utilize them in battle.
