The “The Finals” Christmas patch is here and brings a bunch of balancing changes. Additionally, the Christmas event has started and Monaco is buried in snow.
What balancing changes are there? The list of balancing changes is long, but it primarily affected the Heavy class.
The class has a lot of health and heavy fighters can survive long in battles due to shields. Especially when you played with a combination of two healers and a tank, the cashout could easily be stolen. However, we introduced a build that is even stronger than the Heavy and hardly affected by the nerfs.
In the Heavy class, among other things, the following changes occur:
- RPG-7 deals less damage to players, has a smaller explosion radius, and is slightly less accurate
- Both shields lose about 15% of their capacity
- Firing rate of the flamethrower increased
- Damage of the shotgun reduced
Additionally, C4 has been nerfed, losing damage as well. The explosion radius has also been reduced here. Lastly, it was part of the meta to play the Heavy with C4s, attach them to barrels and explosive gas canisters, and throw them at opponents.
The combination of barrel/gas canister and C4 was incredibly strong and therefore annoying for many players, as the damage dealt could even eliminate an enemy Heavy on the spot.
Other classes are also affected by nerfs
What changes for the other classes? The other classes are also affected, though not as much as the Heavy. The light class, for example, also suffers from the C4 nerf but receives a buff for the electric shocker.
Another important change concerns the mines. They now all have an activation time that ensures they only become active a short time after placement. Additionally, the damage of the regular mine has been slightly reduced.
Overall, the changes primarily affect the defense meta. This previously often consisted of preventing the cashout by using as many barrels, mines, and grenades as possible without really participating in fights.

A new event in The Finals: Happy Holidays 2023
What does the new event bring? The new event brings us a map update for the “The Finals” map Monaco. The map has been covered with snow by the developers. Additionally, we can find some snowmen.
There are also new skins for weapons, grenades, and outfits in a winter style available in the game.
How much do the new skins cost? Some of the new skins can be claimed for free until January 3rd. The “Tactical Holiday Message” set is available for everyone for free. This set includes a Christmas hat, a Christmas stocking as a weapon charm, a grenade skin that looks like a Christmas ornament, and weapon stickers.
The second new set is called “Festive Mood” and outfits you as elves with a Christmas sweater and reindeer print, antler headgear, elf boots, candy cane-style blush, and sled shorts that look like wrapping paper. The set costs 1000 Multibucks, which is about 10 euros.
