The Finals is barely a week old and yet the first hackers are supposedly in the game. The community accuses a certain nation of hacking particularly much and demands drastic measures.
Why is the community frustrated? The community is frustrated because hackers are supposedly already at large in The Finals after not even a week.
- A thread has gone viral on Reddit showing a player with Chinese characters as a name, who dominated his round with 46 eliminations to 2 deaths.
The thread creator NeonMatrixxx writes: ‘This guy was running around using aimbot and wallhacks. When I was running outside, I died. Immediately. Then I realized that this was a common behavior throughout the game.’

Community wants to lock out Chinese players
What does the community demand? The community demands drastic measures, but not against hackers, rather against Chinese players in general. A user named TryItOutGG proposed to impose a region lock on China.
This would mean that Chinese players could only play with other Chinese players and not with players from other countries. The proposal received over 800 votes and is the top comment under the thread.
Additionally, the Finals leaderboard is led by Chinese players. Some Reddit users have therefore expressed suspicion that these players might be top of the leaderboard by unfair means. A region lock would remove the Chinese players from the leaderboard.
Chinese players dominate leaderboards – all hackers?
What is behind this? A look at the The Finals leaderboard actually shows mainly Chinese players at the top. However, most of them are streamers or e-sports professionals who earn their living by being good in The Finals.
Many users on the leaderboard have the name of a Chinese live streaming platform before their nick. This is comparable to someone being live on Twitch or TTV and indicating this in their username.
The top players do not seem to be hackers, but actually professional players.
What about the other Chinese players who are not professionals? Besides the professionals, there seem to be actually Chinese hackers in The Finals. However, one can quickly find Western cheat manufacturers with a simple Google search.
It seems more that the anti-cheat system of The Finals is not secure enough, as currently many providers of cheats and hacks are offering their services for the game.
What other measures are there? The community is demanding not only a region lock but also better anti-cheat measures. However, players seem to primarily see the problem with Chinese players.
