The Adventure Rank in Genshin Impact is very important and unlocks many useful features of the game. Here are the various sources from which you can obtain Adventure EXP.
What is the Adventure Rank? The Adventure Rank or level is a mechanic in Genshin Impact that is primarily determined by your progress in the game.
This level is globally valid for your entire account and differs from the individual character levels. Accordingly, separate EXP is earned for that.
What do you gain from it? Many mechanics in Genshin Impact depend on the Adventure Rank, which are only unlocked at higher levels. These include, for example:
- New Areas
- Dungeons
- Daily Quests
- Expeditions
- The Co-op Mode
Furthermore, your world level is also directly linked to the Adventure Rank. Therefore, it is essential for your progress that you continuously increase your Adventure Rank.
Additionally, there are some rewards for each level-up of the Adventure Rank that you can claim in Mondstadt at the Adventure Guild. These can include Mora, Primogems, or other useful items.
How do you increase the rank? Since the Adventure Level is separate from the individual character levels, it also requires its own specific Adventure EXP. You obtain this, on the one hand, by completing the story quests. On the other hand, many different activities within Genshin Impact also provide them.
Here are the different sources from which you can draw Adventure EXP. Some of them are one-time, while others can be repeated daily. The trick is to combine several of them to be efficient. By the way, all of them require no resin.
Daily Missions
To unlock the commission quests, a minimum Adventure Rank of 12 is initially required. Once you reach this, go to the Adventure Guild in Mondstadt and talk to Katheryne. Afterwards, they will appear under “Missions” in your Adventure Handbook.
There are 4 different daily quests every day that you should complete. On the one hand, they individually provide a lot of Adventure EXP that scales with your rank, and on the other hand, you can get up to 500 EXP as a bonus for completing all 4 quests, which you must claim at the Adventure Guild.
The amount of EXP from the quests depends on how high your Adventure Rank currently is. But there are indeed many Adventure EXP for a relatively small time investment.
Besides the EXP, the quests also provide other useful rewards like Mora or even Primogems. Therefore, one should try to complete them as much as possible every day.
If you have already reached rank 12, then these daily quests are a must for quickly leveling up the Adventure Rank. If you do not have rank 12 yet, you can use the methods listed below.
Adventure Handbook
For the Adventure Handbook, you also need to talk to Katheryne in the Mondstadt Guild first. It will be unlocked after a short cutscene.
In the book, you will find three chapters named Excursions, Sphere, and Bounty Hunting. Here, you are primarily interested in the Excursions.
They are a collection of various small and large tasks that you can complete while exploring in the world of Genshin Impact. This includes tasks like “Activate 3 Teleport Points,” “Open 15 Chests,” or “Defeat a Ruin Hunter.”
Especially early in the game, these tasks are relatively easy to complete and can also be done alongside other activities, while, for example, walking from point A to B for a quest. For this, you earn a decent 100 EXP.
Sphere and Bounty Hunting also give Adventure EXP, but they require a certain amount of Original Resin, which you can only spend in a limited amount each day.
Here, you need to consider what you want to do with your daily amount of Resin.
Completing Quests
The classic: Quests work in Genshin Impact just like in almost every other RPG. You receive various tasks from NPCs and must complete them to earn rewards.
It is advisable to follow the Archon main quest up to around rank 7 to unlock new party members and some new features. Once you have your first full group of characters, you can dedicate yourself more to exploration.
Besides the Archon story quest, there are many smaller and larger side quests in Genshin Impact, which provide you with plenty of Adventure EXP and other useful rewards.
What are Legend Quests? These special quests that tell stories about individual characters are unlocked gradually starting from Adventure Rank 32. For example, the first story is about Klee. Currently, there are 3 of these Legend Quests available. In addition to the usual rewards, there are also ample Adventure EXP for higher ranks. Therefore, it is worth completing these quests as soon as they become available to you.
To start the quests, you need Legend Keys. You can accumulate a total of 3, while only one is needed to start the quest. You can obtain these keys by completing your daily quests. For each quest, you receive a progress point, and a total of 8 are needed to unlock a Legend Key.
So always keep an eye out for different quest NPCs and work through your quest log. This activity can also be well combined with other ways to farm Adventure EXP. One such side quest is “The Chi of Guyu”:
Statues of The Seven
During your journey through the world of Genshin Impact, you will find Statues of The Seven that give you a good amount of Adventure EXP for a “small” donation.
To donate to the statues, you need special items, Anemoculus and Geoculus, which are scattered all over the map. They can sometimes be well hidden or hard to reach, but we have maps with their locations for you:
Collecting the Oculi and worshiping the statues can be done super easily while you complete quests or explore the map.
Worshiping is not only useful for Adventure EXP. You also receive additional items and unlock more information on the world map, which helps you during further exploration.
Map Exploration
While it may seem obvious in an open-world game, exploring the map in Genshin Impact brings you a lot of bonuses. This includes Adventure EXP as well. If you want to efficiently farm it, you need to combine multiple activities, and few things suit better than exploring the map for chests, enemy camps, and teleport points.
When you open chests or activate teleport points, you can earn between 20 and 50 EXP. While it may not sound like much, you can combine it, for example, with:
- Connecting it with the tasks from the Adventure Handbook
- or completing it alongside other quests.
Especially in Genshin Impact, there are plenty of treasure chests to find. You practically stumble over one every few meters at the beginning. So keep your eyes peeled and collect the bonus EXP.
