In 2019, the new tabletop game Warhammer: The Old World was announced. With this, the fantasy giant aims to return to its roots. Now there is new information and a trailer that wants to prepare you for the upcoming battles.
What does the game want to offer you? Warhammer: The Old World is a tabletop game in the Warhammer universe. And it goes a bit back to the beginnings. This game offers you the choice between two starter sets: the “Tomb Kings of Khemri” and the “Kingdom of Bretonnia.”

What does the trailer show? In the trailer, you see the figures from the two starter sets, ready for battle. You can choose between an army of undead that seems inspired by ancient Egypt or an army of knights, some of whom ride on Pegasus.
The trailer then explains a bit about the gameplay without going into too much detail.

In Warhammer: The Old World, your strategy is required
The rounds consist of different phases: the strategy phase, the movement phase, the ranged combat phase, and the melee phase.
During each phase, there are a few rules to keep in mind, which are only briefly touched upon in the video. For example, it is noted that the different figures can move varying distances or that there are certain prerequisites for a successful ranged combat.
When can you play? You should be able to pre-order the starter sets starting from January 6th. When exactly you’ll receive them is still not quite clear, but probably within this month.
