The faction incursions will start soon in World of Warcraft. We will reveal what Blizzard had in mind.
The war mode is one of the big features of World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. However, just a few weeks in, the balance had shifted so much that almost only Horde players utilized the “open PvP” mode, and the Alliance didn’t even think about getting involved. The Alliance will soon receive new incentives to activate the mode.
But the number of actual battles in the war mode is likely to rise due to the faction incursions.
What are the faction incursions? With Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance, faction incursions (Incursions) will take place at regular intervals. The Alliance and Horde will take turns invading an area of the opposing faction. For example, the Alliance might make an incursion into Nazmir while the Horde invades Tiragarde Sound.
This comes with different quests for both factions. One side must thwart an attack, while the other side must fend off an assault on a specific elite NPC.
When do the faction incursions start? With the release of Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance, the faction incursions will be available immediately. So after the maintenance on December 12, 2018.
Even though world quests are fundamentally PvE missions, they entice PvP, as players from both sides are drawn to the faction incursions. After all, rewards include items with an item level between 325 and 370.
What is there for the participants? Those who keep their eyes open will discover not only quests during the faction incursions but also particularly strong treasures. For example, picking up an Unstable Azerite Beacon will cause 200% additional damage – however, the player will lose a small portion of their health every second. Such effects will certainly create fun moments in PvP battles.
For twinks, the faction incursions are a good way to rack up extra experience points, as the quests provide a significant chunk of XP. Completing an entire incursion even grants a buff that provides additional experience points for one hour. So participating is doubly worthwhile!
