The PvP MMO The Exiled has not become the success that the developers had hoped for. However, a new game mode is supposed to change that.
According to Steamcharts, nine players were active in the PvP MMO The Exiled during peak times in the last 30 days. This is a disaster for any online game that relies on many players working together. The developers have now realized this failure and are informing the fans about the situation in an open letter.
Too few players, too high bills
Although smaller and larger updates have been released repeatedly, it is clear that the very small player base can neither finance the game nor the development studio. Therefore, it was necessary for the team to take on contract work so that the bills could be paid. Consequently, further work on The Exiled had to be suspended for the time being. However, the situation has since relaxed a bit.
The team has now carefully reviewed the numerous feedback from players to better address the wishes of the fans. However, they have rejected one of the biggest requests outright. The team will not turn The Exiled into a regular MMORPG with PvE content. On the one hand, this does not fit the concept according to the developers, and on the other hand, it would require an unreasonably large amount of work that the team currently cannot handle.
The Survival Mode is supposed to fix it
Instead, a new Survival Mode will be introduced. This mode will be playable for about three hours a day. Each hero has a limited number of lives. Once these are depleted, they are no longer part of the match. Additionally, it will be necessary to drink water at an oasis in between.
The development team hopes to attract more players with the Survival Mode and make battles exciting again. The update with the Survival Mode is expected to be released this August. In addition, there will be bug fixes, optimizations, and performance improvements. Can this save the game The Exiled?
