The online RPG The Exiled (formerly known as Das Tal) is still alive and is trying to make a comeback with some changes to attract players.
Only three simultaneous players according to Steamcharts is a disaster for any game – especially for an online game like The Exiled, where PvP is at the forefront. The Exiled is currently struggling to survive. Even if peak times sometimes show 33 players online at once, that is still far from enough to keep the title operational over a long period of time.
The developers are not giving up
The developers are aware that this cannot continue, and have now issued a statement on Steam. This acknowledges that even the most recent changes have not brought the desired success. The survival mode, on which so many hopes were pinned, failed to attract players. However, they do not want to give up. The team is making another attempt with the new Season 8.
The biggest measure to lead The Exiled to success is the introduction of a permanent Free2Play trial. As long as you can forgo the extras offered by the supporter packs (such as multiple character slots and additional skins), you can play The Exiled for free as long as you want. Additionally, the 3-hour time limit for the survival mode has been abolished. Previously, survival sessions could only be played for three hours.
Major changes are planned
Furthermore, the developers announced a reset of the game, for which the team now intends to return to the drawing board. Some significant changes are being planned. Therefore, only minor bug fixes are scheduled for the near future. The team states that they have worked hard for four years to make The Exiled a good game. Currently, the groundbreaking idea that is supposed to save everything is missing. But they hope that this will emerge through brainstorming.
The online RPG The Exiled has not been a success from the start. All previous improvements could not change that.
